We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
2. What we collect
We collect very little. Specifically:
Information you give us. If you use the contact form, we collect your name, work email address, company name, and message, together with your job title and phone number if you provide them. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you include.
Technical information. Our hosting provider and the services described in section 4 automatically receive standard technical data when you visit, including your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. We do not use this to identify individuals.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics that profile visitors. We do not buy personal data, and we do not sell or rent it.
3. Why we process it, and on what basis
We use the information you send through the contact form solely to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to continue a business conversation you started. Our legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services.
Technical data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a functioning, secure website.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Third parties who process data for us
We use a small number of external services to run this website. Each receives only what it needs.
Hosting. This website is hosted by Replit, Inc. (United States). Their servers process technical data including IP addresses in order to serve pages.
Contact form. Form submissions are processed by Formspree, Inc. (United States), which delivers them to our email. Formspree stores submissions on our behalf.
Fonts. This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, operated by Google LLC (United States). As a result, Google receives your IP address when a page loads. We do not use Google Fonts for any tracking purpose.
Email. Our business email is provided by Google Workspace (Google LLC).
5. Transfers outside the UAE
Because the providers listed above operate outside the United Arab Emirates, personal data collected through this website may be transferred to and stored in other countries, principally the United States.
Where such transfers occur, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers, including their contractual data protection commitments, in accordance with the requirements of UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.
6. How long we keep it
Contact form submissions and related correspondence are retained for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and for up to 24 months thereafter, so that we can refer back to a conversation if you contact us again. After that they are deleted.
If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will, unless we are required to keep it by law.
7. Your rights
Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law you have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy
- have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected
- ask us to delete your data
- restrict or object to how we process it
- receive your data in a portable format, or have it transferred
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out
- lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office
To exercise any of these, email info@sail-ventures.com. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
8. Cookies
This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. The third-party services described in section 4 may set functional cookies necessary to deliver the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work.
9. Security
This site is served over HTTPS, and we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited personal data we hold. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
This website is intended for business audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data — for example by adding analytics — we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be made clear.
